1. A 70 year old patient presents with renal failure, hypercalcaemia and anaemia. Tests are negative for serum and urine paraproteins.

 

2. A 68 year old gentleman with recurrent fractures and infections is found to have high paraproteins in his urine. During your night on call he gets increasingly ill and goes into shock.

 

3. A 75 year old patient is found to have a high IgM level, though is otherwise healthy. 

 

4. A 70 year old gentleman is found to have a ‘pepper pot’ skull on radiography. A month later he develops severe abdominal pain and passes a kidney stone.
